Without further ado, here is Seth Goldman and Chef Spike. Seth started Honest Tea in Bethesda, which is where I was raised, and many of Spike’s restaurants are in DC and the surrounding areas. I’m really excited to have both Seth and Chef Spike on the podcast, not only because they are legends, but they started each of their businesses where I grew up. I’m on the record that Good Stuff makes the best burger I’ve ever tried. Prior to going into business together, Seth is well known for being the founder of Honest Tea and Chef Spike Mendelsohn was one of the Top Chefs on the show Top Chef and started quite a few restaurant establishments including VIm & Victor, We, The Pizza, Santa Rosa Taqueria, my personal favorite Good Stuff Eatery. The newest location will open only a month after PLNT Burger’s fourth location opened in Wynnewood, PA. PLNT Burger offers an indulgent array of Beyond Burgers topped with Follow Your Heart’s vegan cheese, mushroom-bacon, and guacamole, alongside Beyond Meat-based chili, Beyond Sausage-stuffed hot dogs, and vegan chicken sandwiches made with crispy oyster mushrooms. Mendelsohn created the concept after Seth Goldman-the former Executive Chairman at Beyond Meat-introduced him to the vegan Beyond Burger, which he saw as better for people, animals, and the planet. The chain’s flagship location opened in September 2019 as the first vegan concept of chef Spike Mendelsohn, a restaurateur known for his appearances on Bravo’s Top Chef and the Food Network.
